Help Getting started

Setting up your organization

The first time you sign in, you tell Tiermark which company you are with, by its legal name and UEI. A prime that left out its UEI adds it later from Settings.

Updated · Edwards Consulting Group

The first time you sign in, Tiermark asks which company you are. Your organization is that company: your team, your plan and your records all belong to it.

What to enter

  • Company legal name, as it appears in SAM.gov.
  • UEI, the company's 12-character Unique Entity ID from SAM.gov. It is optional, but with it Tiermark finds the right registration at once and can build your supplier map from it. A prime that leaves it out adds it later: see Adding your UEI later.
  • You are: a prime with suppliers to assure, or a supplier answering a prime.
  • The terms: you accept the terms of service and the privacy notice on behalf of the company, and confirm that Controlled Unclassified Information will never be submitted.

Then choose Create my organization.

What happens next

If your sign-in address is on the website SAM.gov lists for the company, you are verified straight away. If it is not, Tiermark confirms that you represent the company before anything about it is shown: see Verifying your organization.

Adding your UEI later

A prime set up by name alone has no UEI on file, so its Overview says No exposure report yet and the map cannot be built. An admin adds the UEI from the console.

  • Who: an admin of a verified prime organization that has no UEI on file. A contracts manager or a viewer sees that an admin adds it. An organization that is not yet verified is verified first: see Verifying your organization. This is for primes; a supplier whose organization has no UEI writes to help@tiermark.io.
  • Where: the Settings tab on the console, in the Add your UEI card. The card is there only while no UEI is on file. On Overview, an admin's empty state has an Add your UEI button that opens it.

The steps:

  1. Type the UEI into UEI and press Check with SAM.gov. A UEI is 12 letters and digits. Tiermark checks the UEI with SAM.gov and shows the company SAM.gov lists: its legal name, UEI, CAGE, location and the domain of its website. Nothing is written yet. If it is not your company, Not this company starts again.
  2. Show that you can act for that company, with an address on the website SAM.gov lists for it. If your sign-in address is on that website, the page says so: press Add this UEI, and you are done.
  3. Otherwise, type an address on that website, your own or one you can read, into the Address at box, which names the domain, and press Send me a code. A message with the subject "Your Tiermark code to add a UEI" goes to that address; it names your organization and the UEI, and tells the reader never to pass the code on. Type the 8-character code into Code and press Add this UEI. Use a different address goes back to the address box.

A code expires thirty minutes after it is sent, and the fifth wrong attempt spends it; ask for a new one. You can ask for up to three codes to the same address in a day, and your organization for up to five in a day.

Once the UEI is added, the UEI, SAM.gov's legal name, and the CAGE code and location SAM.gov lists appear on the Organization card, and the page says the UEI is on file. Build your map takes you to Overview, where Build my map is: see Your supplier map.

Write to help@tiermark.io instead when:

  • SAM.gov lists no website for the UEI, or lists a shared host such as a consumer mailbox provider. There is no domain to prove, so a person at Tiermark checks it with you by hand.
  • Another company in Tiermark already has that UEI.
  • Your organization already has a UEI on file and it has to change.
  • SAM.gov has no active registration for the UEI and you are sure it is right.

Roles in an organization

RoleWhat it can do
AdminEverything in the console, including the plan and billing
Contracts managerThe same as an admin, except the public directory listing: campaigns, answers, the risk register, the plan and billing
ViewerReads everything, and commits the company to nothing

People are added to an organization by Tiermark on request: write to help@tiermark.io from an admin's address with the new person's work address and the role they should have.
